"St. Stanislav Order""St. Stanislav Order"
The second polish order – St. Stanislav Order – was instituted in 1765. Its institutor is Stanislav August I Ponyatkovsky, who gave his name to a new reward. Krakovsk’s bishop of XI century Stanislav was killed during the divine service by the king Boleslav and later, in XIII century he was canonized and became a patron of Poland. The decoration of St. Stanislav Order represented a cross of red enamel with four polish eagles between the rays. The image of St. Stanislav with the initials SS (Saint Stanislav) on each side the figure is at the center of the medallion. Later when the order became an official Russian decoration, the figure of the bishop was removed, only his initials were reserved. The motto of the order is “decorating, he encourages”. After the February’s revolution of 1917, the Provisional Government of Russia kept the old tsar’s decoration system. Only crowns were removed from the decorations of the Order of White Eagle and St. Stanislav Order. The motto on the Star of the Order of White Eagle was replaced by a twig. On the white Polish Eagle the crown was retained. Composition: Star of the Order Medal Decoration with the crown Cross Pedestal – velvet Table (size 500x350) Order in internet shop
